- See red：Angry，生氣、憤怒
Ex: I saw red when i saw him with my old girlfriend.
- Leave sb. in the dark：把某人蒙在鼓裡，不告訴某人某事
Ex: She left us all in the dark.
- In the red：Owe money to a bank or losing money，破產、出現赤字
Ex: Many hotels operating in the red due to shrinking numbers of tourists.
- Out of the blue：Suddenly、Unexpected，突然地，出乎意料地
Ex: Then out of the blue she met a golden oppotunity.
- Golden oppotunity：絕佳的機會
Ex: You have a golden opportunity to travel and learn.
- Black Sheep：害群之馬，敗家子
Ex: My brother is the black sheep of the family.
- Born with a silver spoon in his mouth：出生在很富有的家庭，意同中文之含著金湯匙出生，差別在於英文是銀湯匙。
Ex: He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and doesn't have to work at all. But he really works harder than anybody in the office.
- Tickled pink：非常開心，滿意，心花怒放
Ex: I was tickled pink by the compliments.
- Grey area：灰色地帶，含糊不清的
Ex: She was tickled pink over this rather grey area.
- Green with envy：Jealous，忌妒，眼紅
Ex: Sophie was green with envy when she heard that Alice had won the lottery.
- Catch sb. red handed：將某人逮個正著
Ex: Jay was kissing Patty, and Jolin walked in and caught him red handed.
- Red flags：Alert，Warning，出錯的徵兆、警訊
Ex: She had acting strange but I didn't see the red flags.
- White/Blue collar worker：白/藍領工作者
Ex: And by 1956 a majority of U.S. workers held white collar rather than blue collar jobs.
- Give sb. green light to sth：to give permission for sb. to do sth. or for sth. to happen，准許、許可做某事
Ex: The council has given the green light to the new shopping center.
- True colors：真實的自我，真面目
Ex: Once you get to know him better, you will see his true colors.
- Caught the red eye：Late fly or say very early fly，非常晚的飛機航班，大概是凌晨之時
Ex: I caught the red-eye from LA to New York.
- White lie：善意的謊言
Ex: I would never accept a white lie even if it is out of good intentions.
- To be green：只人沒經驗，新手
Ex: He just graduated and is rather green.
- Pink slip：解雇通知，炒魷魚通知
Ex: She received the pink slip last month, so she is between jobs now.
- Black out：暈眩，失去意識
Ex: He drank too much last night at the bar and ulimately blacked out.
- Once in the blue moon：非常罕見
Ex: He only drink wine once in the blue moon
- Green thumb：園藝技巧精湛
Ex: Julien has a green thumb; he has planted lots of beautiful flowers in his yard
- Paint the town red：出門狂歡
Ex: To celebrate Amy’s birthday, we’re gonna go paint the town red tonight!
- Yellow-bellied：懦夫，膽小鬼
Ex: He is a yellow-bellied guy, don't send him on such a tough assignment.
- Roll out the red carpet：盛情款待
Ex: We must roll out the red carpet for our guests.
